The ERRR podcast can also be listened to on Spotify, apple podcasts, and all other podcasting apps.

This episode we’re speaking with Peps McCrea. Peps is the Dean of Learning Design at Ambition Institute, overseeing and designing  programmes for teachers and teacher educators. He has years of experience as a teacher, school leader, and senior lecturer in teacher education.

And today we’re talking about Pep’s absolutely fantastic book, Motivated Teaching. It’s all about that HUGE question that’s ever-present in teachers’ minds, ‘How can I motivate my students?’, and it doesn’t disappoint.

I know that this is a pretty big claim, but in terms of insights per number of words, I reckon this is the best book that I’ve ever read. And you’ll hear in this podcast just how Peps managed to go from 200,000 words worth of notes summarising the insights from the research on motivation, to the 10,000 words that comprise this ultra-concise book.

And at the end of the podcast, Peps and I turn from the topic of motivating students, to motivating ourselves, and share a bit about our own habits, routines, and current projects and goals in what I hope is an engaging addition to the usual education-focussed content.
