This episode we’re speaking with James Handscobe. James is the principal of Harris Westminster Sixth Form, which is a fee-free school in London that aims to bring a first-class education to disadvantaged students in London and surrounds.

In this episode we discuss Jame’s book, A School Built on Ethos: Ideas, assemblies and hard-won wisdom. This is really quite a remarkable book from really quite a remarkable man. The book describes how James, as the foundational principle for Harris Westminster, which was started in 2014, used assemblies to craft the school’s ethos, set expectations, educate, and inspire.

More than anything, this book has convinced me of the power and importance of the spoken word to shape culture, and hopeful this podcast has a similar impact upon you too. This podcast really is a rollicking ride and this is the first time that I’d use the word, ‘beautiful’ to describe one of the ERRR podcasts.
