T1 and T2 this week are both summaries of some education research papers. T2 in particular is an intervention I'll be looking into more.

T3 is one of my favourites this week. When I did my teaching rounds, this is something that I did to get a better feel for the student experience. It was amazing! But I haven't thought about it much since then. I was grateful to be reminded of it again this week.

T4 is a very thought provoking piece for anyone who teaches maths. I don't quite understand Michaels classroom, but I'm sure it works somehow. Keen to learn more.

Retrieval Roulette is a retrieval practice process invented by Adam Boxer, with wide application. This T5 has a link to a whole heap of resources that are free and ready to use.

T7 changed the way I'll put my seat back on a plane, for ever!

T8 is pretty specific and could be helpful to anyone who has encountered this and is keen to know about the impacts of Aderall more broadly.

What's the impact of publication bias in education research?

Interesting article, ‘Do Published Studies Yield Larger Effect Sizes than Unpublished Studies in Education and Special Education? A Meta-review’ 
Here's a summary of findings and implications:

The impact was greater for effect size studies than correlational ones.

Studies, in general, didn’t correct for publication bias, and correction would do well to consider ‘gray literature’ (unpublished literature)

An exciting intervention targeting student teacher relationships

This is an exciting intervention. Targeted student teacher relationships, coached teachers twice/week for a year, with the aid of video reflection. Outcomes were student achievement on standardised tests. Students of intervention teachers in the intervention year didn't… (1/2) show stat sig diff from a control group, BUT, students of intervention teachers in the following year showed test score gains that bumped them from the 50th to 59th percentile. Suggests enduring positive changes in the way that teachers relate to students. (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…)
